What does Fabulous Soles represent ? This is a question I have been meaning to address in my mind and to express with those who have read stories and connected with me overtime. An honest confession is that I often have had the dilemma of how to define my myself in general (recently deciding its best to not obsess over such things). I seemed warranted to express what the idea of ‘Fabulous Soles’ means to me.
No. ‘Fabulous Soles’ does not only represent the ‘shoes’ we love. It is an energy; a state of mind; an extension of our emotions at times without having to speak.
While sharing in the excitement of a selection of heels or boots, there has always been a sense of narrative or my own version of storytelling associated with my features and moments shared. As time goes on, we all not only evolve in our sense of style but become more complex as individuals and continuously view life from a different perspective. On that note, below is a insight into what Fabulous Soles represents to me.
I am surely not the only woman who believes a heel can alter our state of mind or attitude and prowess on any given day. Sunshine and suede pointy toes, an effortless and refreshing rainy afternoon wearing wellies in your favorite color, or running shoes that accompany you through tours of cities and waterfronts. Similarly, a touch of rouge on your lips or an element of red adds a sense of both femininity and playfulness to any ensemble. I have always had this notion and perspective that the ‘culmination’ of shoes we wear, men or women are a reflection of one’s character and unique personality.
I can affirm to personally having a great eye and posses a true attention to detail with respect to shoes and more. My adoration for shoes goes further than merely suede heels (which deserve special care) or a glamorous evening sandal and those ephemeral black leather thigh-high boots. Picking up a shoe and glancing at the stitching or smelling the leather will have my eyes open wide. Don’t ever tell me that shoes don’t matter! This does not only apply to women’s shoes either. How can you not adore a men’s leather boot with a luxurious but rugged appeal?! There’s something truly alluring about a handsome man whose shoes have character whether brand new or worn in well!
Fabulous Soles had started of as an experiment and exercise to start a unique blog a while back and while there have been times I had admittedly neglected to keep the momentum of my writing through a few of life’s ups and downs, my passion and desire to share a sense of positive energy and expression still endures. On that note, as time went on, there was a feeling that I had more to share and express. I began to take more of my own photos of spontaneous adventures, style features and interviews or stories about designers or personalities that inspire me.
‘Quality over quantity’ is a motto always in the forefront of my mind and I believe first and foremost, a small collection of well made shoes made with attention to detail and a sense of luxury holds more value than any number of shoes that do not feel good while you walk and run or only last a short while. (Not be mistaken. I did not say you can have too many but in life there are priorities) While numbers often are paramount, quality over quantity is a significant reflection point for life whether with respect to the relationships we choose to nurture and who we love or show appreciation for to the food we put into our bodies to making a conscious decision about your environment.
‘Fabulous Soles’ is in essence, a means of symbolism.
I enjoy connecting with the rest of the world through my unique lens and those little things that make life more joyful. I hope that those reading are inspired to either put on a pair of their most coveted heels for no reason rather than they want to embrace a sense of boldness and of course enjoy the more monumental life moments in shoes that make you feel stronger, stand taller, and walk with a sense of confidence that you know you have already in there!
Life is a journey of ups and downs for sure and it is energizing and a projection of positive energy when we embrace those things in life that make us feel more alive. Whether wearing shoes that accentuate your aura or recognizing the value of conversation over breakfast with those that value your company, embrace the moment. Life can pass us by. Be yourself. Be authentic!
I have always gone back to the feeling that it is not only the shoes you wear but where they travel with you that matters and the memories and experiences wearing them.
