DVF ‘s Spring 2016 runway presentation stayed true to Diane von Furstenberg’s signature aesthetic with the beloved wrap dress and waist-cinching silhouettes in metallic and bright hued floral patterns. Zoning in on DVF shoes, here are a few backstage close ups. From solid geometric, illuminating Lucite heels meshed with shimmering gold and animal print leather to metallic silver pumps, these heels are energizing and vivid.
The theme for the show, ‘Fortvna’, is a reference to the Roman ‘goddess of fortune and personification of luck in the Roman religion’. Also, known as a ‘goddess of fate’, and signifying “The Luck of a Woman”. This energy alludes to the sense of empowerment and strength of a women that the DVF brand presents.
The metallic hues resonate with the 70s influence present in many SS16 collections so far. Versatile gold and silver strappy sandals mixed with various textures of suede, embossed leather and leopard are edgy but still versatile and fun! The shoes meshed with pieces of the collection from floral pieces to shimmering jumpers, set the state for a style that invokes both the fierce prowess of a woman’s presence but even more so, her ‘goddess” like aura!
It is noteworthy that Diane von Furstenburg was wearing the sandals below as she walked out at the end of the show. Solid stems on an inspiring woman!
