I had wanted to wear this DVF navy lace dress for a while and finally wore it on New Year’s Eve. I seem to have a an affection for deep blue as I realize I wore a blue dress on NYE last year as well. Truthfully though, I love this dress because it is comfortable and the fact that it is form fitting but has long sleeves so it is not only more appropriate for the winter but also compromises the look when wearing a shorter length.
While I originally had my mind set on a soft gold point toe or white heels, I did not regret wearing the Brian Atwood Frederique heels shown above. They are quite comfortable and the patent leather in a toffee hue is a versatile shoe and a good contrast so the materials are not too busy! As opposed to other instances, the dress was my focus. I think I need to find more lace pieces in the near future! I will admit, NYE is not usually my favorite holiday BUT I just wanted to wear the dress!
A little vintage refers to my white and gold clutch shown above. Often the items we cherish the most are those pieces we may be lucky to have been given from a relative. Not only does the item, hold a memory of that family member but there is something to be said for the quality and glamour of items worn in the 1950s that cannot be replicated. The thought here is that it is nice to pair “something old with something new”.
(Note: This photo was taken with my iPhone so it is a visibly fuzzy and the lighting is not the best but I felt it was suiting to display my whole look!)
It may seem a bit late too post a NYE outfit BUT the first month of the year is coming to an end. It is still suiting in my mind to say Happy New Year! Also, the month did not get off to the best start for me but I was glad I had fun that night. Relish those moments you remembered what it was like to just have fun while staying positive and remembering what gives you momentum. You never know what each day might bring BUT you can get back up and recognize that some situations are meant to remind us what is really important!
I cannot help but add an emotional touch sometimes. It is my nature.
So wear that dress you love and shoes that lift you up!
Happy New Year!
