I always seem to love gold in various hues and textures as it truly adds a glamorous touch from head to toe (when not overdone i must note!). My immediate inspiration to highlight the allure of gold was sparked after attending the Lela Rose Fall 2010 collection on behalf of I Heart Heels for New York Fashion Week on Sunday.  Whether gowns in light or rich colors accented with a gold shimmer or feminine metallic sheath dresses, I walked away from the show (on Valentines Day might I add) with a feeling of romance in the air! The element of gold paired with ivory, soft browns and black for fall elicits a subdued sense of glamour without being too bold. Of course, my eyes always have a tendency to zone in on the heels and the gold sparkling ankle strap platform sandals worn below were just lovely!  I must add that the heels worn by the models were from the upcoming Fall collection of Lela Rose for Payless. Lela Rose did not disappoint! Elegant and glamorous with a touch of golden splendor!

I clearly had to spot some fabulous gold heels which stand out on their own!  On a personal note, I will share that I have missed my soft gold peep toes pumps, among the numerous items which were in my infamous lost suitcase. Thats right! It is apparently lost for good.  I think this saga has taught me that in the long run, while we cherish our clothes and more, it is “stuff” and in the end, some items can be replaced and the most important things are not the items we posess but a healthy soul and body, memories and appreciating not only those who inspire us but the moments in our lives that make life so special. A little sentimental thought which I felt compelled to share!

On another note……more reason to scour the universe for some amazing gold replacements such as the classic jewel adorned Martinez Valero’s in gold satin above. Despite this, I have been learning to accessorize with gold earings, studded tops over black silk or a lovely leaf shaped belt as well. Perfect for a romantic evening by any means but in my opinion, I don’t feel there needs to be a special occasion to wear any of these. I would find a reason!
